Midwest Communications, Inc is seeking a full-time ACCOUNTANT to join our team in Wausau, WI.  Our centralized accounting department, which serves multiple locations throughout the Midwest, is looking for an individual that is professional, self-motivated, team-orientated, and organized with the ability and desire to get the job done. 

As our Accountant, you will…

• Support monthly close process including reconciling of accounts to general ledger
• Manipulate large amounts of data in excel to produce effective summaries and journal entries
• Maintain vendor information and prepare information returns for review
• Maintain contesting records and ensure compliance with reporting requirements and disclosure regulations
• Assist with fixed asset record maintenance
• Prepare other governmental reports including personal property tax returns and sales and use tax returns for review
• Assist in the company’s financial audits
• Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a professional and courteous manner
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies

We are asking you to…

• Have a degree in accounting or a minimum of five years of experience in an accounting or finance related role
• Have a high level of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
• Be able to meet critical deadlines
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
