WKOW 27 News, Madison’s ABC affiliate, has a rare opening for an Anchor/Producer to lead our Monday-Friday 4:00 p.m. newscast and co-anchor the 5 p.m. news. Yes, you read that right: a weekday, dayside schedule in local news.

We’re searching for a skilled journalist who can produce and co-anchor a sharp, engaging hour of news that airs in multiple markets across Wisconsin. Top candidates will bring a natural curiosity for issues impacting our viewers, strong editorial judgment, solid producing chops, and the steady presence needed to deliver clear, compelling stories on deadline. Candidates with proven leadership experience will have the potential to be elevated to an Executive Producer title. News readers need not apply; this job is not for you.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• A degree in journalism, communications, or other related field
• At least 3 years of on-air anchoring and producing experience
• Crisp, adaptable writing across broadcast and digital formats
• A team-first mindset, strong organizational skills, and critical thinking abilities
• Potential interest in executive producer/leadership responsibilities
