
Chief Radio Engineer
Good Karma Brands (GKB) is looking for a Milwaukee-based radio broadcast Chief Engineer who will be responsible for executing all broadcast-related engineering functions for our radio stations in the local market, as well as being a technical teammate that will occasionally work with Corporate Directors to support our other out-of-market stations. Some travel will be required.

Daily Tasks of a Chief Radio Engineer
- Install, maintain, and support all broadcast equipment including transmission systems, transceivers, satellite receivers, and broadcast automation equipment for optimum performance
- Maintain remote broadcast equipment
- Document equipment installation, wiring, maintenance, repair, and replacement
- Ensure that all projects are properly implemented and executed per agreed-upon schedule
- Work varied and extended hours that may include some weekends, holidays, on-call, and required travel, after-hours projects, or when emergencies or failure of critical equipment affecting the operation of a station
- Respond to equipment outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems at studio, transmitter locations
- Ensure operation and oversee maintenance of company assets with the safety of the operator, other personnel, and the public in mind, according to the guidelines of the station and Company
- Update, improve and implement our business continuity plan and contribute as a member of our crisis management team

Preferred knowledge, skills and qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in radio station studio and transmission systems engineering
SBE Certifications or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred - Significant technical experience is required in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of radio station facilities and equipment, including RF and IP systems
- Good knowledge of all broadcast systems and equipment: SAS Routers and Consoles, Axia outers and Consoles, Wheatstone Routers and Consoles, WideOrbit, Telos Systems, Comrex, Orban, Nautel, Harris and Gates equipment, as well as AM phasors, ATUs and FM antennas and transmission systems
- Possess an understanding of compliance regulations required by the FCC, OSHA, FEMA, and FAA, as well as all company policies and procedures
- Audio engineering knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art broadcast analog and digital equipment, automation systems, and studio design
- Strong working knowledge of high-powered AM, FM, HD and IP stream transmission systems.
- Excellent written and oral communications, personable and timely interaction, and response with fellow employees
- Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills
- Heavy computer and hand tool usage, including repetitive hand use and movement, is required
- Must be able to climb ladders, crawl and work in small places, and able to lift 50 pounds
- Work will be performed in various locations and environments: engineering shop, studios and transmitter facilities, both indoors and outdoors, and in an office environment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and remain trustworthy with sensitive information
- Must have good knowledge of computer networking, related equipment and IP technology.

This is an exempt role with a competitive base salary. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
