Good Karma Brands is looking for a high performing Producer to join our ESPN Chicago market. Chicago, one of the largest, most talked about sports cities in the country, is frequently on the national stage, bringing local and national content daily. Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the daily show preparation of an assigned sports talk show or shows. This person will meet with his/her assigned host(s) each day to discuss topics and plan segments for the show. The producer will manage the flow of the show, screen callers for the program and book any relevant guests. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the background material and execution of the show while live on the air and overseeing social media accounts and the imaging and sound of the show. The producer may also be asked to produce podcasts and coordinate with the marketing department as needed.

Daily Tasks of a Producer

• Responsible for daily show preparation for assigned talk show.
• Meet with host daily to help plan shows.
• Produce segments for daily broadcast.
• Manage talent and flow of show in-studio during daily broadcast.
• Implement daily tasks assigned from the Director of Content to meet broadcast deadlines.
• Work with Executive producer(s) to gather sound and music to enhance program segments.
• Supervise and assist talk show host while program is on-air.
• Responsible for studio preparation for daily show.
• Research background material for staff, segments, and daily broadcast.
• Screen telephone calls for talk program.
• Create, produce, and edit podcasts
• Ensure sponsored elements of show are executed
• Communicate segments ideal for digital repurposing and create titles for YouTube Videos.
• Other assigned tasks

Preferred knowledge, skills, and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of programming related experience at a satellite, traditional commercial, and/or college radio station.
• Proficient in digital audio editing (Adobe Audition).
• On-site remote producing experience preferred.
• Ability to operate audio console.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Strong familiarity with all major sports, their personalities and the media that cover them.
• Ability and willingness to travel for remote broadcasts when necessary.
• With this career, you are required to hold a valid driver’s license

Hours/Salary/Benefits 

Pay Transparency: The anticipated salary range for Illinois-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $50,000 - $55,000. The compensation rate is to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

This role is eligible for full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k) Plan, Dependent Care, paid parental leave, and more with opportunities for salary growth increase with skills and responsibilities and meeting targeted goals. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
