
Morning Content Manager
WLUK/WCWF in Green Bay, WI is seeking a news manager to join the team as Morning Content Manager. Our content center is dedicated to overall fairness, balance and accuracy. We prioritize multi-platform content that answers questions our audience wants answered and holds leaders accountable. The ideal candidate will produce and oversee daily content for newscasts, digital platforms and special programming. You will work closely with producers, reporters and other managers on daily content priorities and strategic multi-platform coverage. As a newsroom leader, the expectation is that the Morning Content Manager will lead by example.

The ideal candidate will produce and oversee daily content for newscasts, digital platforms and special programming. You will work closely with producers, reporters and other managers on daily content priorities and strategic multi-platform coverage. As a newsroom leader, the expectation is that the Morning Content Manager will lead by example.
Some additional responsibilities of our Morning Content Manager will include:
• Oversee daily newscasts to ensure we are serving our local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect and empower our audiences
• Supervise producers and reporters, as well as review scripts and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling with an emphasis on accountability
• Manage newsroom and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow our audiences on all platforms
• Collaborate with News Director and other station managers to create special segments
• Planning and overseeing continuity into upcoming newscasts
What skills do you need to be successful in our role?
• Extraordinary people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating
• Comfortable managing staff, holding people accountable, providing constructive feedback
• Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platforms
• Ability to perform well under pressure, experience managing breaking news and meeting strict deadlines
• Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives
• A strong commitment to journalistic standards and ethics
• Ability to identify problems and provide solutions
• Strong understanding of how to drive digital traffic
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience producing in a television news environment or equivalent
• A college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred
• Understands the non-stop nature of news
